| Brabin's Shop, Gallery & Tea Garden is the oldest continuously trading shop in Britain having been built in 1668 by John Brabin as a house and shop from which he traded cloth. Today the shop sells greetings cards, stationary, newspapers, cigarettes and a wide range of gifts including jewellery, local souvenirs, glassware, traditional wooden toys etc. The shop also stocks locally made cheese from Leagram Organic Dairy, Mrs Darlington's jams, biscuits and cakes plus over 50 types of traditional sweets in jars and Ice Cream from Bond's of Elswick.
